We love designing magazines and the world of magazines matters to us.

A vibrant part of Helsingin Sanomat’s content are feature stories that span from news, society, culture to lifestyle features. The studio redesigned the look & feel of HS stories with 3 different article design for news, features and opinions, that launched in May, 2026 (visual).

In April I saw some incredible work of online news features, visual stories and digital magazines when judging at SND 47 in Berkeley, California. If you are a member of SND watch it here.

When creating a digital visual storytelling you need to think like Hitchcock did. Every single visual “mobile frame” counts as a ”scene” to create a great mobile experience.

The digital magazine or feature layout has a lot to do with magazine layout and how to create surprises, think Brodowitch!

The studio is also proud to have redesigned the print magazine; Vi – A Swedish magazine classic, that was awarded Magazine design of the year, 2025 in Sweden. Art Director: Hanna Johansson deserves the recognition.

Magazines are indispensable… they continuously seek to describe the present time and the aesthetics of “now”. The history of the magazines evolution and design is a constant source of joy and inspiration.
