Magazine design needs continuously developments to look a feel contemporary, a magazine that is part of its time is more relevant for its readers. My studio did a magazine redesign update for the magazine Ergoterapeuten from ergoterapeutforeningen, Denmark, 2020.
I worked closely with magazine editor Trine Vu with the design.
The design update focused on: presenting the research stories and create a clearer contrast between feature and shorter stories.
The new magazine type friend is Forma, a stylish revival of the classic Italian sans by David Jonathan Ross and Roger Black, US, the accompany the serif typefaces; Domain and Feijoa by Klim Typefoundry, NZ.
Visually the magazine works with photographer: Martin Bubandt, Copenhagen and the illustrator Erica Jacobsson, Stockholm.
My studio art directed and did all magazine production of the Danish magazine: Ergoterapeuten (Occupational Therapist), between 2019 -2021. I produced the magazine design for 8 issues yearly, a redesign of the magazine and a new concept for a stand alone yearly magazine in research called Forskning.
To art direct the 4th issue in 2020, during the pandemic and lockdown was the most developing challenge, the full issue was illustrated stories, i worked with the illustrator Mazao Yamazaki, Tokyo and the illustrator Erica Jacobsen, Stockholm.
