Aftenposten awarded in redesign by SND and a finalist in INMA, NY

written by Anna Thurfjell

I’m proud to announce my studios work has been awarded in the redesign category, with an Award of Excellence, by the worldwide organisation Society for news design. Aftenposten is Norways largest daily quality newspaper with over 1,2 million readers in print edition and the digital ap.no

The main design improvements, my studio worked with are:
— More impact, recognition, modern type and better branding. Read more about: The revival of Aftenposten’s title-piece and logo.
Aftenposten has redrawn the logotype and title-piece, designed by Paul Barnes, Commercial type, London.

— More range and dynamics with more levels within stories. We created a new page system to improve the newspaper reading experience.

— Stronger and fewer visuals, better infographics and more intelligent illustrations.
We created a warmer visual voice for Aftenposten with portrait illustrations by Masao Yamazaki, Tokyo.

Thanks for an incredible fun project; Aftenposten-team: Kristin Kornberg,  chief of printed products, Asbjørn Bakke, News editor,  Ronny Ruud, Head of development and Constantin Eberle, Head of design at Aftenposten.

Aftenposten has also been a selected finalist in INMA, New York, to be announced in May.
